Site visit
We come to your site to inspect your car park and existing electrical infrastructure such as the main switchroom, distribution boards, existing power outlets, cable trays and the location of common area and apartment electricity meters.
For some sites it may be possible to install individual EV chargers to each apartments electricity meter. For other sites it is necessary to install EV chargers from the common area meter. Your site may look to install one (or several) EV charging stations in the short term. And long-term install the electrical infrastructure backbone to allow all parking spaces to have EV charging. When connecting to the common area meter it is important to set up a billing system to measure and charge users. And most sites will require a load management system to reduce the peak demand EV charging places on your electricity supply.
Data logging and load measurements
The first step in getting your site EV ready, is measuring and knowing your load.
We identify the capacity of your switchboard and distribution boards and conduct data logging to measure your load.
Our data loggers record your 3-phase amps in high resolution 1-minute intervals, recording both average amps and maximum amps over an entire week.
Most sites do not know the electricity supply allowance from the grid. We can request this information from your electricity network provider.
For some sites providing EV charging to all spaces may require an upgrade to your supply. Or may require upgrades to the main switchboard or other electrical infrastructure.
